YIMBY Shares Additional Views of Project Site at 1101-33 South 9th Street in the Italian Market in South Philadelphia

At the end of October, YIMBY shared photos of a dormant construction site slated for a seven-story, 157-unit mixed-use building at 1101-33 South 9th Street in the Italian Market, South Philadelphia. Today we deliver an additional view of the site, which continues to sit fallow and form an unfortunate gap in the bustling, pedestrian-friendly streetscape of the Market, in a nod to New York YIMBY‘s ongoing Turkey Week, which tracks stalled developments. The building will rise from a large parcel located at the southeast corner of 9th Street and Washington Avenue. Designed by BLT Architects, the structure will span 204,351 square feet and will feature 15,192 square feet of commercial space and parking. Permits list HC Pody Company as the contractor and indicate a construction cost of $52 million.

Our recent site visit has revealed that no construction progress has yet been made at the site of a seven-story, 157-unit mixed-use building at 1101-33 South 9th Street in the Italian Market, South Philadelphia. Designed by BLT Architects, the building will hold 204,351 square feet of space and is expected to cost $52 million to construct. The project will include accessory parking spaces as well as commercial space on the ground floor, likely on South 9th Street, which is a major commercial corridor. Hunter Roberts Holdings LLC is listed as the contractor.

Facade Work Underway on Townhouse Complex at 710-20 Montrose Street in Bella Vista, South Philadelphia

Façade installation is making progress on a townhouse complex rising at 710-20 Montrose Street in Bella Vista, South Philadelphia. In total, the development is bringing five new homes to the block. The development rises at the corner of Beulah Street next to the St. Mary Magdalen de Pazzi Church, on a plot owned by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Each one of these homes will rise four stories tall, and hold just over 3,000 square feet of space.

Permits Issued for Five Townhouses at 924 Beulah Street in Bella Vista, South Philadelphia

Permits have been issued for the construction of a townhouse complex at 924 Beulah Street in Bella Vista, South Philadelphia. The complex will include five homes in total, each rising four stories tall. Permits list each home to total just over 3,000 square feet of space, with construction pricing coming in at $250,000 apiece. Rich Villa is listed as the project’s design professional, with KNE II LLC listed as the contractor.
