Construction Underway at 4211-13 Chestnut Street in University City, West Philadelphia

Philly YIMBY has recently visited the construction site of a multi-family building at 4211-13 Chestnut Street in University CityWest Philadelphia. The new building will stand seven stories tall and will house 100 residential units, each an apartment. A roof deck will be located at the top of the build and will be accessed through a pilot house. In total, there will be 68,210 square feet of space within structure, which will cost an estimated $4 million to build.

A recent site visit by Philly YIMBY has discovered no significant signs of new construction at the 513-foot-tall, 34-story tower proposed at 3001 John F. Kennedy Boulevard in University City, West Philadelphia. Designed by Practice for Architecture and Urbanism and developed by Brandywine Realty Trust and Drexel University, the red-clad high-rise will be the latest addition to the $3.5-billion, multi-building Schuylkill Yards development currently in progress in University City, adjacent to the Drexel campus. The tower at 3001 JFK Boulevard will feature 930,000 square feet of floor space, mostly office with 6,600 square feet allocated to retail, and will aim for LEED Silver certification.

Permits Issued for 748 North 40th Street in Belmont, West Philadelphia

Permits have been issued for the construction of a three-story, 12-unit residential building at 717 North 35th Street in Belmont, West Philadelphia. The development will replace a vacant lot on the west side of the block between Aspen and Brown streets. Designed by Haverford Square Designs, the building will feature parking for four bicycles, a basement, and a large roof deck reserved for the penthouse unit. Permits list Eugene Naydovich of Fitler Development as the contractor and a construction cost of $500,000.

Construction Nearly Complete at One uCity Square in University City, West Philadelphia

A recent site visit haas revealed that construction is nearly complete at One uCity Square, a mixed-use building in University City, West Philadelphia. Designed by ZGF Architects and developed by Wexford Science & Technology, the University City Science Center, and Ventas Inc., with Turner Construction as the contractor, the $280-million, 13-story building will hold 389,000 square feet of office, laboratory, and retail space. The 250-foot-tall structure, also known as Wexford One uCity Square, is part of the greater mixed-use uCity Square development, which will feature 10.5 million square feet within 15 existing and 10 newly-constructed buildings. New construction will account for three-quarters of the total square footage.

New Renderings Revealed for the Schuylkill Yards Complex in University City, West Philadelphia

The skyline of University City, West Philadelphia, has started to transform again as a large number of developments are on the way to change its profile. Among these, the 14-acre Schuylkill Yards development is on top of the list, which counts several confirmed towers: 3001 John F. Kennedy Boulevard, 3025 John F. Kennedy Boulevard, and 3151 Market Street along with 3025 Market Street, and Drexel Square. The east tower and 326-unit west tower were designed by the Practice for Architecture and Urbanism, while 3151 Market Street was designed by Gensler. The entire project was developed by Brandywine Realty Trust.
