Permits have been issued for the construction of a four-story multi-family residential development at 239-43 Farragut Street in Walnut Hill, West Philadelphia. The new building will span 25,255 square feet. Design work is being handled by Kore Design. City Suburban Home Builders, LLC is listed as the contractor.
Last week, Philly YIMBY shared plans for a multi-family development, as seen in a recent submission to the Philadelphia planning department’s Civic Design Review, which calls for a 30-building, 68-unit townhouse complex to be constructed at 2650 Castor Avenue in Port Richmond; today we take a closer look at the proposal. The complex will be constructed on a full-block vacant lot bound by Castor Avenue to the east, Pickwick Street to the west, East Thompson Street to the north, and Edgemont Street to the south. Designed by KCA Design Associates, the development will feature 22 duplexes (two units per building) and eight triplexes (three units per building). The proposal will also include 50 parking spots, situated on an interior parking lot behind the rowhouse-style residences.
Philly YIMBY’s recent site visit has noted that construction is well underway at a seven-story, 196-unit multi-family building at 933 North Penn Street in Northern Liberties, North Philadelphia. Designed by HDO Architecture, the development rises on the Delaware River waterfront and will feature a pedestrian promenade. The structure will span 187,636 square feet and will include parking for 57 cars and 66 bicycles.

The development will feature 29 residential units and private roof decks, replacing a vacant lot on the north side of Girard Avenue between North 39th and North 40th Streets. The development is led by 3912-3916 West Girard Avenue LLC, the property owner on record. Yona Construction LLC is listed as the general contractor. Architectural design is handled by Daniel Flesher of In Earnest Design LLC, while Ray Crossan serves as the design professional in responsible charge. The site engineer is Jake Sheridan of AquaEconomics.
