The Arthaus condominium at 311 South Broad Street is starting to resemble its renderings as the skyscraper’s exterior moves toward completion. The 108-unit high-rise stands 542 feet and 47 stories high, towering over the Washington Square West neighborhood in Center City. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox, the building features bright cladding highlighted by the white metal mullions. The developer, Dranoff Properties, has produced numerous properties around the city, which include the Symphony House across the street.

The concrete core had topped out in February, and all of the concrete work was finished shortly thereafter. Steel erection had begun in April, starting on the north side of the tower. In the meantime, cladding had just passed the first terrace and was reaching up to the next one, while the four-story podium’s structure had also completed construction. By our last update, the building structure had reached the pinnacle. The crown was taking shape as steel erection was continuing on the roof.

The tower is now looking more complete as the glass has reached the pinnacle on the south face. The glass and metal on the north and east faces are slowly working their way up, as well, and all of the balconies have been clad. Glass installation has started on the third floor, along with brickwork reaching from the ground to the top of the podium. Interior work is nearly complete on the first few floors, as evidenced by the finalized interior lighting visible from the outside. The tower’s cladding is likely to be completely finished by fall.

The building’s anticipated completion is May 2022, as stated on an on-site sign.

  1. That photo of the Drake & Arthaus is really good. 🙂

Look at the density going on in that pic.

  2. These are million-dollar condominiums, correct? So when should I expect an “accidental” fire to burn down that old church directly next door to Arthaus? You know the church I’m talking about– the one with a soup kitchen and groups of homeless people lining up out front.
