The facade is nearly complete at The Laurel Rittenhouse, one of the most highly anticipated projects in Philadelphia. The tower rises at 1911 Walnut Street in the Rittenhouse Square neighborhood of Center City, just across the street from Rittenhouse Square Park. The tower was previously stated to stand 599 feet feet tall, but recent documents reveal an actual height of 604 feet. The skyscraper rises 48 stories tall, with two additional mechanical floors, and will feature 185 rental apartments and 65 condominium units. A three-story podium containing amenity space will be attached at the north side of the main building.

In our first documentation on the skyscraper, the tower was in the most challenging stage of construction where the third floor, which houses the cantilever holding up the multiple stories above, was being formed. At the end of 2020, the tower had risen to a height where it could be seen from various vantage points throughout the city. By April 2021, the tower had slimmed down to its smaller floor plates and the facade had started two months prior. The residential floors topped out in July, and the core was finished in October, with the steel parapet finishing construction two months later in December.

At the very top of the tower, the maintenance unit along with construction material sits at the top slab. The facade rises up to the 47th floor, leaving the 48th floor and the crown left to be clad. The tower is looking close to its final appearance, with its skin nearly finished, and stands out in the skyline from many vantage points. The three-story amenity podium is still at ground level and will likely start construction once the temporary elevator comes off the skyscraper. The cladding on the tower will likely be finished by spring, and the tower crane may be taken down around the same time.
