Construction is moving along North Liberty Triangle at 1102-48 North 2nd Street, yet another residential development in progress in Northern Liberties, North Philadelphia. Developed by Streamline Development, the six-story structure will feature 84 residential units for the residential space as well as retail, a gym, and underground parking for future residents.
The project was first announced in 2017, when permits were filed for a smaller 75-unit development. The proposal was beefed up in 2019 to its current size. The project’s name comes from its location at a triangular lot, where the intersection of North 2nd Street and Germantown Avenue create an acute angl. A block to the east of the project rises the massive Piazza Terminal, where three massive cranes currently dominate the neighborhood. Despite its smaller size, North Liberty Triangle still significantly contributes to the neighborhood’s residential boom.
The last update from January saw the main mostly complete, with the windows in place and the exterior being prepared for cladding installation. By now, scaffolding has been installed on the east side of the building for the mounting of the white and dark gray cladding. Exterior is likely to progress rapidly in the next few months.
The building was originally scheduled to open in early 2021, but completion may be delayed until the end of this year or early 2022.
