One uCity Square Rises Rapidly in University City, West Philadelphia

The uCity Square development in University City, West Philadelphia, is coming along at a rapid pace. The main tower, One uCity Square at 3401 Market Street, is well underway to join the recently topped-out Drexel building, with structural steel continuing to rise. Designed by ZGF Architects, the 250-foot-tall, 13-story building will feature a blocky, Jenga-like massing with shifting, glass-clad sections. The uCity Square complex, developed by Ventas Inc., will span 14 acres and will feature four more buildings to the west, with some rising taller than One uCity Square.

Tower Cranes Erected At One uCity Square In University City, West Philadelphia

Two massive tower cranes have been erected at One uCity Square in University City, West Philadelphia. Designed by ZGF Architects and developed by Ventas Inc., the building is a part of a 14-acre mega project, dubbed uCity Square. Out of the designs released so far, One uCity Square will be the center of attention as nit has the most eye-catching design. The building will top out at a full height of 250 feet and 13 stories. The tower will include office and lab space, with Century Therapeutics and Integral Molecular as tenants, as well as retail space.

Philadelphia YIMBY Presents Massing Renderings of Two New CHOP Towers

A month ago, the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia unveiled two new towers that are part of a $3.4 billion plan that will add considerable bulk to the University City skyline in West Philadelphia. On the University City side, the University-City-Tower at the presumed address 3401 Civic Center Boulevard will rise across the street from the CHOP Buerger Center for Advanced Pediatric Care at 3500 Civic Center Boulevard. On the Southwest Center City side, 690 Schuylkill Avenue will stand to the northeast of the CHOP Robert’s Center for Advanced Research as the tower, right next to the iconic South Street Bridge.
