Excavation is underway at the site of the six-story, 50-unit mixed-use building planned at 342-54 West Girard Avenue in Northern Liberties, North Philadelphia, as Philly YIMBY’s recent location visit has revealed. Designed by Coscia Moos Architecture and developed by Hightop Real Estate and Development, the 43,010-square-foot project will rise from a 8,124-square-foot footprint and include 2,252 square feet of retail, a basement, full sprinkling, and a parking garage. Permits list Ferraro Construction Group LLC as the contractor and a construction cost of $4 million.

Permits Issued for 3449 Scotts Lane in East Falls, Northwest Philadelphia

Partial permits have been issued for a large multi-family development proposed at 3449 Scotts Lane in East Falls, Northwest Philadelphia. Designed by DesignBlendz and developed by the Stamm Development Group, the complex will contain four multi-family buildings totaling 220 residential units and spanning 190,147 square feet of space. The plan will include 220 accessory parking spaces, with 149 set in an underground garage and 71 on the surface.

Fishtown Takes the 20th Place on Philly YIMBY’s First Anniversary Countdown

Philadelphia YIMBY’s month-long First Anniversary Countdown, which looks at the most frequently mentioned article categories over the course of the past year, makes it past the one-third-of-the-way mark as it finds the neighborhood of Fishtown at the 20th place, with a total of 40 category tags. It is hardly surprising to see this well-known, long-running development hotspot among last year’s top 20 most frequently mentioned categories. If anything, it is impressive that the increasingly built-out neighborhood is still churning out new development at such a consistent rate even after more than twenty years of steady growth.

Northwest Philadelphia Ranks at Number 25 on Philly YIMBY’s First Anniversary Countdown

Philadelphia YIMBY’s First Anniversary Countdown, which looks at the most frequently mentioned article categories over the course of the past year, finds Northwest Philadelphia as the 25th among the 31 ranked entries. The district, better known for its small-town charm rather than for being a construction boomtown, has assumed its relatively high rank due to its large area, when compared to other neighborhoods that we have covered in the countdown so far, as well as a proliferation of apartment development taking place among major thoroughfares and near transit hubs. Today we look at a selection of the most notable buildings that are bringing density and visual variety to the district.

In celebration of Philly YIMBY’s first anniversary, we look at our most frequently tagged categories in a month-long series of articles that will run as a countdown that starts with the 31th most-popular category and will run until it hits number one. Today we begin our countdown by looking at Rittenhouse Square and Brewerytown, the two categories tied for the 31st place.
