Designed by BKV Group, the project will span 372,721 square feet and offer commercial space on the ground floor along Washington Avenue as well as a parking garage with space for 78 cars; parking will also be available for 184 bicycles. Construction costs are specified at $62 million.

Renderings Revealed for The Mark at 3615 Chestnut Street in University City, West Philadelphia

Renderings have been revealed for a massive new multi-family development called The Mark, located at 3615 Chestnut Street in University CityWest Philadelphia. Upon completion, the building will officially stand 34 stories tall, though a mechanical penthouse at the top will stretch the height higher, to just over 400 feet tall, a very sizable addition to this location. Designed by BKV Group and developed by Landmark Properties, the tower will hold 363 residential units, with 236 standard units and 127 group living units. Accessed from Ludlow Street, the development will hold space for 70 cars and 96 bicycles.

Permits Issued For 2120 North 7th Street In North Philadelphia East

Permits have been issued for the construction of a new multi-family development at 2120 North 7th Street in North Philadelphia East. The new building will rise three stories tall, with three residential units, all expected to be apartments. A pilot house at the top of the structure will provide access to a roof deck. In total, the building will space 3,216 square feet of space. 24 Seven Design Group is the architectural firm behind the project.

Construction Still Pending at 33 North 22nd Street in Center City West

A recent visit by Philadelphia YIMBY has revealed no signs of construction nor construction preparations of any sort at our recent visit to the site of the 328-foot-tall, 29-story residential tower proposed at 33 North 22nd Street in Center City West, even though a construction permit was issued last November. Designed by Solomon Cordwell Buenz and developed by the PMC Property Group (which is also listed as the contractor), the building will span 456,380 square feet and offer 341 apartments as well as a garage for use both by the building’s residents as well as customers of the adjacent Trader Joe’s supermarket, which currently uses the outdoor parking lot at the building site, which remained in operation at the time of our visit. Permits list a construction cost of $136 million.

A recent site visit by Philadelphia YIMBY has noted further construction progress at The Skylar, a three-story, four-unit mixed-use building at 1601 Frankford Avenue in Fishtown. Designed by Ambit Architecture and developed by Stamm Development Group, the building rises at an oblique corner of Frankford Avenue and East Oxford Street and will span 5,910 square feet, which will include ground-floor commercial space, a cellar, and a roof deck. Construction costs are listed at $1.15 million.
