Philadelphia YIMBY’s recent site visit has observed that foundation work is in progress at a four-story, six-unit mixed-use building under construction at 2240 Frankford Avenue in Fishtown. The project borders Frankford Avenue to the south, Trenton Avenue to the north, and East Dauphin Street to the east. Designed by Mt. Alto Design + Drafting, the building will offer commercial space at the ground floor and balconies in select units. Permits list Kaps Construction as the contractor and specify a construction cost of $450,000.

Construction Nearly Complete at 1704 Frankford Avenue in Fishtown

A recent site visit by Philadelphia YIMBY has observed that construction work is nearly complete at a three-story, nine-unit mixed-use building at 1700 Frankford Avenue in Fishtown. The structure will rise on the west side of the block between East Columbia Avenue and West Palmer Street. Designed by Ambit Architecture, the building will span 4,728 square feet and will feature ground-floor commercial space and a cellar. Permits list GRIT Construction as the contractor and indicate a construction cost of $1.1 million.

Renderings Revealed For 5709 Cottage Street In Frankford, Northeast Philadelphia

Renderings have been revealed for a new mixed-use development proposed at 5709 Cottage Street in Frankford, Northeast Philadelphia. The new building will stand four stories tall, yielding 96,613 total square feet of space. The majority of this space (79,724 square feet) will be allocated for residential uses, with the building slated to contain 81 residential units. The remaining space (12,889 square feet) will be used for structure’s 43 planned parking spaces. KJO Architecture is the firm behind the project’s design.

Construction Nearly Complete at 1148 Frankford Avenue in Fishtown

A recent site visit by Philadelphia YIMBY has noted that construction work is nearing completion at a five-story, 59-unit mixed-use complex at 1148 Frankford Avenue in Fishtown. The development will span 42,100 square feet and will include a renovation and retail conversion of the 19th-century Kensington National Bank as well as construction of a five-story apartment building at the site of the bank’s parking lot. The Wells Fargo Bank branch currently situated in the existing building will be relocated to the new structure. Designed by OOMBRA Architects, the development will include 20 parking spaces for commercial customers, elevator service for residents, 20 bicycle spaces, and a roof deck. Permits list Wells Fargo Bank as the owner and Reed St. Builders LLC, and a construction cost of $9.25 million. The development is also known under its full address of 1148-62 Frankford Avenue.

A recent site visit by Philadelphia YIMBY has observed significant construction progress at a four-story, 12-unit mixed-use development at 1538 Frankford Avenue (alternately 1538-44 Frankford Avenue) in Fishtown. The development is situated on the west side of the block between Jefferson and East Oxford streets. Designed by KJO Architecture, the project will span 23,741 square feet, which includes 5,829 square feet of retail. The building will be fully sprinkled and will feature a roof deck, which promises to offer reasonably open skyline vistas. Permits list Optimal Construction Group as the contractor and specify a construction cost of $2.4 million.
