Facade work nears completion at Riverwalk North, which is part of the Riverwalk complex at 60 North 23rd Street in Center City West. The development consist of two skyscrapers situated upon retail podiums. The project will feature a total of 711 residential units, and the north tower will have 331 units with the south tower featuring 380 units. Gensler, the architecture firm behind the design of the complex, has also designed a number of other projects in the area, including 3151 Market Street. Similarly, developer PMC Property Group is also developing several properties in the neighborhood.
In the previous update on the first phase of the project, interior work was noticeably underway. At nearly every floor, conventional illumination replaced construction lighting and gave the building a finished look at night. The structure looked clean and refreshing as the cladding was nearly completed, leaving almost no gaps in the glass skin.
The Giant supermarket at the second floor has been open for nearly four months remains popular with customers. At the facade, multiple panels have been glassed in, and the tower now barely shows any signs of construction. At the balconies, black metal railing has been installed, splitting each space in half. At ground level, the entrance is complete and the driveway between the buildings is open. The entrance being decorated with greenery.
The tower’s residential portion is scheduled for completion at the end of the year.
