Construction is progressing quickly on the six-story, mixed-use structure at 3700 Lancaster Avenue in University City. The building, which is part of the multibillion-dollar uCity Square megaproject, will rise on an angled lot that was formerly home to the University City High School. The development will add 463 residential unit and retail to the growing Lancaster Avenue and University City. The structure will hold 304,907 square feet of residential space and 13,856 square feet of retail space. Plans also call for 157 parking spaces for residents’ use.

Broad Street, the city’s primary north-south thoroughfare, is seeing an influx of development proposals, particularly on its centrally located yet long-neglected portion between Center City and Temple University in lower North Philadelphia. At 1300 Fairmount Avenue, just off Broad Street and near the iconic Divine Lorraine Hotel, RAL Development is constructing a 185-foot-tall, 14-story mixed-use high-rise totaling 625,000 square feet. The structure will contain a 58,700-square-foot Aldi supermarket, a 12,000-square-foot preschool, and 487 apartments. Cope Linder Architects is the designer.

The Riverfront Alliance Of Delaware County has unveiled an extensive master plan that will transform the waterfront of Chester, PA, a satellite city west of Philadelphia. The plan seeks to revitalize approximately 100 acres of waterfront by the Commodore Barry Bridge and Subaru Park, a stadium that is home to the Philadelphia Union, a Major League Soccer franchise. Mural West Tower Set to Rise at 523 North Broad Street in Callowhill, North Philadelphia

Construction has yet to break ground on Mural West, a 363-foot-tall mixed-use building at 523 North Broad Street on the border of the Poplar and Callowhill neighborhoods of North Philadelphia. Designed by Atkin Olshin Schade Architects and developed by Eric Blumenfeld, the 32-story building will add some verticality to the area around North Broad Street north of the Vine Street Expressway, which has seen minimal skyline development since the dome-topped Inquirer Building was completed in 1924. The project will include a mix of retail space, offices, and residential area.
