Revised Design Revealed for 2300 Market Street in Center City West

Center City West is seeing a surge in construction, where one of the more notable developments is an overbuild proposed at 2300-24 Market Street. The original iteration was designed by Tantillo Architecture, with Lubert-Adler as the developer. The architect behind the latest design is KieranTimberlake, and Breakthrough Properties is the developer. The building was originally planned at 202 feet and 14 stories tall, but now the plans show a slightly shorter, nine-story structure. In a city meeting, four slides were presented showcasing diagrams and three new renderings of the new, distinctive design.

The West Philadelphia skyline continues to transform as construction at the high-rise at 3025 John F. Kennedy Boulevard (also known as Schuylkill Yards West) in University Cityis making significant progress. The tower is a part of a 14-acre mega-project dubbed Schuylkill Yards, which features a number of proposed buildings, including a potential supertall. The building is on its way to rising to its full height of 361 feet, with a structure soon comprised of 28 floors. Designed by the Practice for Architecture and Urbanism and developed by Brandywine Realty Trust, the tower will feature 326-units along with office and lab space and a park between the building and Schuylkill Yards East, another high-rise building proposed next door.

Construction Resumes at 210 South 12th Street in Washington Square West, Center City

A construction boom is underway in the Washington Square West neighborhood of Center City, with many residential projects in progress. Located near the Jefferson Health campus, a new residential high-rise at 210 South 12th Street (previously reported to be addressed at 204 South 12th Street) appears to be underway again. Designed by BLT Architects and developed by Midwood Investments and Development, the rental tower will rise 366 feet tall and 32 stories high and offer 378 units, bringing a significant amount of new residential stock to the neighborhood.

The $4 billion Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia expansion is underway at 3501 Civic Center Boulevard in University City, West Philadelphia, and one of the buildings within the project will soon complete construction. Designed by Perkins + Will, the CHOP Hub for Clinical Collaboration rises just to the south of the CHOP Buerger Center. The building rises 377 feet and 19 floors high.

The first Schuylkill Yards skyscraper now officially rises above ground at 3025 John F. Kennedy Boulevard in University City. The tower, also known as Schuylkill Yards West, is sited just to the northwest of Drexel Square. Designed by the Practice for Architecture and Urbanism and developed by Brandywine Realty Trust, the high-rise will eventually reach 361 feet and 28 stories in height, and will consist of 326 residential units and lab space. The structure is a part of the 14-acre mega-project that will change the West Philadelphia skyline, and is the latest phase in the project’s construction since the renovation of the Bulletin Building.
