Neighborhoods were affected to widely varying degrees, with some remaining largely intact and others losing blocks upon blocks of their housing stock. Thankfully, the trend has reversed back to growth during the past couple of decades. Today we look at how four relatively minor buildings approved at North 7th Street in North Philadelphia East will help turn the tide in a long-neglected neighborhood.

Construction Progresses at 2301 Grays Ferry Avenue in Graduate Hospital, South Philadelphia

Construction is progressing at 2301 Grays Ferry Avenue, a six-unit multi-family development rising in Graduate Hospital, South Philadelphia. The project consist of a three-story vertical extension to an existing single-story structure. A restaurant will be located on the ground floor, with residential units above. In total, the building will hold 8,475 square feet of space. Construction costs are estimated at $1 million.

Renderings Revealed For 1015 South 3rd Street In Queen Village, South Philadelphia

Renderings have been revealed for a 67-unit multi-family development at 1015 South 3rd Street in Queen Village, South Philadelphia. Designed by HDO Architecture, the building will rise four stories tall. The unit count was achieved via zoning bonuses coming from the project’s inclusion of low-income housing and a green roof. The project will include 23 bicycle stalls as well as an additional four more at the sidewalk.

Renderings Revealed for Walnut View at Cityplace in Allentown, PA

Renderings have been revealed for Walnut View At Cityplace, a 57-unit multi-family development located at 909 West Walnut Street in Allentown, PA, a city situated at the northern fringe of the greater Philadelphia metropolitan area. Upon completion, the building will rise five stories and will feature a mix of one- and two-bedroom units. Each apartment will include a washer and dryer, gourmet kitchen, walk-in closet, and energy-efficient lighting. Amenity space will be located around the corner from the development at Cityplace South, an under-construction 78-unit development that YIMBY shared with readers in March.
