Four-Story Building to Rise at 1622-40 Point Breeze Avenue in Point Breeze, South Philadelphia

The Point Breeze neighborhood in South Philadelphia has seen a growing number of new residential projects in recent years, and one of the largest of the type now on the drawing boards for a site at 1622-40 Point Breeze Avenue. The four-story, 69-unit building will rise above the neighborhood dominated by two- to three-story rowhouses, and its 51,410 square feet will make it one of the area’s largest structures. The multi-family residential structure is designed by JKRP Architects. The building will include a bike room and a green roof.

Permits have been filed for construction of a single-family structure at 2023 Oakford Street in the Point Breeze neighborhood of South Philadelphia. The structure will replace a empty lot with minor vegetation on site. Documents do state that the building will feature a roof deck. The property sits on the north side of a block between and Point Breeze Avenue and South 21st Street. The site is under the ownership of OAKFORD2023 LLC.
