Construction Nears Completion at K House in Hawthorne, South Philadelphia

A recent site visit by Philadelphia YIMBY has documented that construction is nearly complete at K House, a four-story single-family townhouse at 1355-57 Kater Street (alternately 1355-1357 Kater Street) in Hawthorne, South Philadelphia. The structure replaces a pair of rowhouses on the north side of the block between South Clarion and South Broad streets. Designed by Moto Designshop, the development spans 4,700 square feet and will feature a cellar, a roof deck, and parking for two cars. Permits list Made Construction as the contractor.

Construction Anticipated at 1712 Christian Street in Graduate Hospital, South Philadelphia

Philly YIMBY’s recent site visit has revealed that demolition has been completed yet construction has not yet begun at the two-building, six-unit development proposed at 1712 Christian Street in the Graduate Hospital neighborhood of South Philadelphia, although construction permits were issued in February. The project replaces two three-story prewar rowhouses on a through-block lot that stretches from Christian Street to the north to Montrose Street to the south. Designed by Moto Designshop, the complex will consist of two rowhouses situated at either end of the site, each rising three stories and featuring three units, with a 33-foot-long rear yard in between. Both structures will feature rear and roof decks. Permits list Made Construction as the contractor and a construction cost of $400,000.

Recently, Philly YIMBY shared several renderings of a four-story, 90-unit residential building planned at 4701-15 Wayne Avenue in GermantownNorthwest Philadelphia. Today we more plans and diagrams for the development, as provided in a Civic Design Review package. Designed by Moto Designshop, the building will span 78,065 square feet and offer elevator service, bicycle storage, a landscaped courtyard, a roof deck, and a green roof.
