Renderings have been revealed for a 189-unit mixed-use development planned at 2204-14 East Allegheny Avenue in Port Richmond, Kensington. The bulk of the project will be situated within a new six-story mid-rise building, which will hold 189 residential units across 146,032 square feet of space. A 17,710-square-foot commercial space will be situated on the ground floor along Allegheny Avenue. A group of 70 townhomes will comprise the rest of the block, rising three to four stories tall. Designed by VBC Studio, the complex will include 87 parking spaces, four being ADA compliant, with an additional 69 set aside for the townhomes, with three being ADA compliant.

Construction work is making steady progress at 3045-51 Richmond Street in Port Richmond, Kensington. Developed by Fifth Realty, the multi-family building stands five stories tall and will offer 28 residences consisting of 12 one-bedroom and 16 two-bedroom units. The development also includes 22 parking spaces.

Permits have been issued for a large-scale change of use and renovation of a four-story industrial building at 3701 Sepviva Street in Port Richmond, Kensington. The structure will house 90 residential units as well as ten commercial spaces on the ground floor. Five surface parking spaces will be included in the project, with one set to be van accessible, as well as 30 bicycle spaces. A roof deck will also be added to the top, with multiple new access structures. In total, the building will hold 78,832 square feet of interior space. The conversion will cost an estimated $5 million to undergo.

Renderings have been revealed for a large multi-family development at 2200-58 Somerset Street in Port Richmond, Kensington. Designed by HDO Architecture, the project will rise up to six stories and will include 535 residential units. Building one will hold 187 units, building two will hold 170, building three – 145, as well as 11 triplexes. 179 parking spaces are planned at the lot, with nine set to be accessible, 10 reserved for electric vehicles, and 17 reserved carshare spaces. Additionally, 293 bike stalls are planned, plus 35 set to sit on the sidewalk.

Service to Resume on the Route 15 Trolley in Port Richmond, Kensington

Trolley service is planned to return to the Richmond and Westmoreland Street loop in Port Richmond, Kensington, after a long hiatus due to construction. The loop is the terminus of the route 15 line, which runs primarily along Girard Avenue from Kensington through North Philadelphia and on to West Philadelphia.
