Mural-Sporting Treatment Center Still Stands at Site of 329-Unit Building Planned at 418 Spring Garden Street in Northern Liberties

Philly YIMBY’s site visit discovered no signs of demolition progress at the site of the 12-story, 329-unit building planned at 418 Spring Garden Street in Northern Liberties. Designed by Solomon Cordwell Buenz, the high-rise, also known under the name of 5th + Spring Garden, will stand 137 feet tall to the top of the main roof and 152 feet tall to the top of the bulkhead. The ground floor will feature abundant commercial space that will enliven the up-and-coming neighborhood. A total of 87 parking spaces will be included within the development.

Permits Issued for 29-Story, 341-Unit Tower at 33 North 22nd Street in Center City West

Permits have been issued for a high-rise tower at 33 North 22nd Street in Center City West. Designed by Solomon Cordwell Buenz and developed by the PMC Property Group, the building will rise 328 feet and 29 stories tall and feature 341 residential units. A parking garage will be included within the structure, which will add to its sizable height. In total, the development will yield 456,380 square feet of space. Construction costs are estimated at $136,000,000.

Philadelphia YIMBY Reveals Skyline Massings of Two Cathedral Square at 227 North 18th Street in Logan Square, Center City

YIMBY recently published the long-awaited reveal of the plans for Two Cathedral Square at 227 North 18th Street in Logan Square, Center City. The new building that will join the north side of the Philadelphia skyline as part of the Cathedral Square development. Developed by EQT Exeter and the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, the tower will soon rise to a height of 470 feet and will feature a curvy, angled parapet, standing 34 stories above ground. The building was designed by Solomon Cordwell Buenz, which has also designed Philadelphia buildings such as The Murano, The Laurel Rittenhouse, and 33 North 22nd Street. Concrete Work Nearly Finished at The Laurel Rittenhouse in Rittenhouse Square, Center City

Concrete work has been largely completed at The Laurel Rittenhouse, a luxury residential tower under construction at 1911 Walnut Street just to the north of Rittenhouse Square Park in Rittenhouse Square, Center City. Designed by Solomon Cordwell Buenz and developed by the Southern Land Company, with the Harman Group as the structural engineer and the Hunter Roberts Construction Group as the contractor, the skyscraper rises to an impressive height of 599 feet and 48 stories (with two additional mechanical floors). The building will house 185 rental units along with 60 condominiums.

Excavation Nearly Complete at 1620 Sansom Street in Rittenhouse Square, Center City

The excavation work is heavily underway and nearly complete at 1620 Sansom Street in Rittenhouse Square, Center City, three blocks to the south of Liberty Place. The building will stand 340 feet and 28 stories above ground. The tower is designed by Solomon Cordwell Buenz and developed by the Southern Land Company, with the Hunter Roberts Construction Group, a trio that has also collaborated on the The Laurel Rittenhouse under construction nearby. The building will hold a total of 306 residential units, along with commercial space on the ground floor.

Nearly a month ago, The Laurel Rittenhouse at 1911 Walnut Street in Rittenhouse Square, Center City, celebrated its topping out with a commemorative event. Designed by Solomon Cornwell Buenz and developed by Southern Land Company, with the Harman Group as the structural engineer, the tower rises 48 stories tall and 599 feet, with additional two floors of mechanical space The parapet that will soon be constructed will reach 593 feet. The building will house 185 rental apartments and 60 luxury condominium units in the upper portion. Cladding Installation Begins at Cathedral Square Phase One in Logan Square, Center City

Cladding installation has begun on the first high-rise of the two-tower Cathedral Square development in Logan Square, Center City. Cathedral Square Phase One is located at 222 North 17th Street, just to the east of Cathedral Basilica of Saint Peter and Paul. Two weeks ago, Philadelphia YIMBY has announced the topping-out of The Laurel Rittenhouse at 1911 Walnut Street in Rittenhouse Square, Center City. Designed by Solomon Cordwell Buenz and developed by the Southern Land Company, with the Harman Group as the structural engineer and the Hunter Roberts Construction Group as the contractor, the building now stands 599 feet and 48 stories tall, making it the ninth-tallest skyscraper in Philadelphia and the tallest residential building in Center City. On September 28th, a topping out ceremony was held on the 47th floor of The Laurel Rittenhouse at 1911 Walnut Street in Rittenhouse Square, Center City. Designed by Solomon Cornwell Buenz and developed by the Southern Land Company, with the Harman Group as the structural engineer, the tower now stands at its final height of 599 feet and 48 stories. The building stands prominently in the Philadelphia skyline over the course of this year and is now clearly visible from the southern direction. The building will include 185 rental units and 64 luxury condominiums, as well as amenity space, retail, and an Equinox gym for residents.
