Permits have been filed for the construction of nine single-family structures at 2001-2013 Abigail Street in Fishtown, Kensington. The September filing follows a July permit to create nine lots from six lots spanning a large vacant site at the corner of Abigail Street and Coral Street. The buildings, located on parcels G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, and O will span from footprints ranging from 546 to 763 square feet. Each building will include a roof deck. Buildings on sites J through K will also feature larger footprints (741 to 763 square feet), parking garages, and second-story decks in the rear. The neighborhood of Norris Square in North Philadelphia is seeing a climb in the amount of proposed development. At 1700-30 North Howard Street, a new proposal will rise from the corner of Cecil B. Moore Avenue and North Howard Street near Fishtown. The 91,230-square-foot structure will incorporate an industrial pre-war façade and a new six-story addition, with a total of 3,850 square feet of commercial space and 87,650 square feet of residential space including amenities. The building will include 110 residential units and 35 parking spaces. The development will be a substantial addition to the generally low- and mid-rise neighborhood.
