Permits have been issued for the construction of a new multi-family development located at 2800 Diamond Street in Strawberry Mansion, North Philadelphia. Once completed, the new building will stand four stories tall, with a green roof and roof deck statuette atop the building. There will be 46 residential units within the project, each slated to be apartments. In total, the new building will span 46,713 square feet of space.

Philadelphia YIMBY’s recent site visit has observed that construction work is complete at a 12-story, 329-unit building at 418 Spring Garden Street in Northern Liberties, Lower North Philadelphia. Designed by Solomon Cordwell Buenz, the development, also known as 5th + Spring Garden, stands 137 feet tall to the top of the main roof and 152 feet tall to the top of the bulkhead. The structure spans 341,522 square feet and includes commercial space as well as parking for 87 cars. Permits list INTECH-Construction as thee contractor and specify a construction cost of $60 million.

Construction Nearly Complete at 1118 North Front Street in Northern Liberties, North Philadelphia

A recent site visit by Philadelphia YIMBY has noted that construction work is nearing completion at a seven-story, 47-unit building at 1118 North Front Street near the junction of Northern Liberties and Fishtown. Designed by BLT Architects, the building will rise on the west side of the block between West Wildey Street and Girard Avenue, just to the south of the Girard Avenue Station on the Market-Frankford Line. The development will span 44,090 square feet and will feature ground-level commercial space. Permits specify US Construction Inc. as the contractor and indicate a construction cost of $7.04 million.

Designed by JKRP Architects and developed by Girard Real Estate LLC, the project will span 104,160 square feet and will feature parking for 28 cars and 47 bicycles, full sprinkling, and a roof deck, which, given the building’s future prominence over the surroundings, will likely offer panoramic views of the Center City skyline. Permits list Benchmark Construction Group Inc. as the contractor and specify a construction cost of $21.5 million.
