Looking At 1BRKS, an Under-Construction Mixed-Use Development in Fishtown

1BRKS is a multi-building development located by the elevated Market-Frankford Line on Front Street. The development is situated at the intersection of Olde Kensington and Fishtown, two vibrant and rapidly developing neighborhoods. Designed by Cosica Moos Architects, the project will add a major destination to the area with 26,000 square feet of retail space. A cafe, brewery, distillery, and beauty salon are some of the tenants already lined up. The development will also include significant residential space within three newly constructed buildings, all of which have already received permits.

31 East Columbia Avenue Goes Before Civic Design Review In Fishtown

The 70-unit residential building proposed at 31 East Columbia Avenue in Fishtown, Kensington, is going before the Civic Design Review, meaning diagrams and details are available for public viewing. Designed by SITIO Architecture + Urbanism, the building will rise eight stories tall. On the ground floor, 10 parking spaces will be included in the project, as well as 30 bicycle spaces.

Renderings Revealed for 2400-04 Frankford Avenue in Fishtown

Rendering have been revealed for a 16-unit mixed-use development at 2400-04 Frankford Avenue in Fishtown, Kensington. Designed by Canno Design and developed by Khosla Properties, the new building will rise four stories tall, with a retail space on the ground floor and residential units above. The building will boast a stately exterior, comprised entirely of gray brick. Throughout the façade, rows and columns of bricks project forward, creating a unique texture on the building. The southeast corner of the building will be rounded, creating a fluid look that will accentuate the intersection.

Construction has been completed at El Magnet, a mixed-use development situated at 1151 North Front Street in Fishtown, Kensington. Designed by ISA Architects, the building rises six stories tall and features 1,800 square feet of retail space on the ground floor, 43 residential units, and 13 parking spaces.

Construction is making progress at 2001-13 Abigail Street, a townhouse complex in Fishtown, Kensington. Designed by Gnome Architects and developed by Catalyst City Development, the project will include nine townhomes with varying sizes. The five homes on the northeast corner of the block will feature parking while the remaining four will not.

Renderings Revealed for 107-Unit Development at 23 West Girard Avenue in Fishtown

A recent Civic Design Review has revealed new renderings are out for 23 West Girard Avenue, a mixed-use development proposed in Fishtown, Kensington. Upon completion, the building will rise six stories tall with 5,406 square feet of commercial space on the ground floor. The upper floors of the building will host 107 residential units, which will occupy the vast majority of the 104,160 square foot building. The building will also offer a 6,000 square foot roof deck which will likely offer sweeping skyline views. There will be 29 parking spaces included with three for electric vehicles and one as a car share spot. JKRP Architects designed the building.

Permits have been issued for the construction of a 42-unit multi-family development at 1408-18 East Oxford Street in Fishtown, Kensington. Designed by Ambit Architecture, the building will rise four stories tall and will hold 41,211 square feet of space. The project will include 34 resident parking spaces in an accessory garage and will cost an estimated $5.25 million to build. Level Up Development is listed as the contractor.

Permits Issued for a Three-Unit Building at 1511 North Hancock Street in Fishtown, Kensington

Permits have been issued for the construction of a three-story, three-unit residential building at 1511 North Hancock Street in Fishtown, Kensington. The development will replace a single story garage-type facility located on the east side of the block between Jefferson Street and West Oxford Street. The structure will rise from a 1,050-square-foot footprint and will contain 3,150 square feet of floor space. Permits list Enam Abazi as the owner, with Paul Dietz specified as the designer and Qazim Kupa as the contractor.

Permits have been issued for the construction of a mixed-use structure at 2240 Frankford Avenue in Fishtown, Kensington. The building will stand four stories tall, with a retail space situated in the ground floor. The upper floors will hold six residential units. Storage space for residents and for the commercial tenant will be located in the basement and at the first floor. Totem Real Estate LLC is the listed owner. Construction costs for the project are estimated at $450,000.

Renderings Revealed for a Nine-Townhome Development at 2001-13 Abigail Street in Fishtown, Kensington

Renderings have been revealed for a four-story, nine-townhome development at 2002-13 Abigail Street in Fishtown, Kensington. The homes feature two design variants, where the five at the northwest corner will include parking, while the four homes to the southeast will not. Catalyst City Development, the developer, is also in charge of the residential conversion of the historic Harbisons Dairy across the street, which YIMBY covered last October.
