Permits have been issued for the construction of multiple rowhouses in Point Breeze, South Philadelphia. The project will total five homes at 2231 Cross Street, 2232 Cross Street, 2235 Cross Street, 2249 Cross Street, and 2252 Cross Street. Each structure will rise two stories tall so as to fit in with the rest of the block, and each will cost an estimated $102,500 to build.
Finishing touches are being applied at Renaissance Estates, a fourteen-unit townhouse development at 3320 South 20th Street in Packer Park, South Philadelphia. Each of the large homes stands four stories tall and features private elevators, two-car garages, and roof decks that will provide stunning skyline views.
Philadelphia YIMBY has recently made a site visit to the Live! Casino and Hotel at 900 Packer Avenue, where it has recently finished construction in the Sports Complex District in South Philadelphia. The 1.5 million-square-foot development opened on February 11th, with both the casino and hotel opening to the public. The hotel stands 14 stories tall and features 215 units. The complex was designed by Bower Lewis Thrower Architects, which has also designed Symphony House and was on the design team for the FMC Tower. The developers, the Cordish Company and Greenwood Racing and Entertainment, has also erected two other Live! Casino and Hotel’s in Pittsburgh and Maryland.
Construction is making rapid progress on Innovator Village, a mixed use development located at 2401 Washington Avenue in Graduate Hospital, South Philadelphia. The development will bring 90 residential units to the site in a mixture of townhomes, duplexes, quadplexes, and a 56-unit mixed-use structure on Washington Avenue.
Permits have been issued for an addition to 725-29 South Broad Street in Hawthorne, South Philadelphia. The development will involve a three-floor overbuild on top of the existing structure to create a seven-story building. Additionally, a new six-story structure will be attached to the existing building in the back. The structure will feature 55,119 square feet in the interior and will house business and office space. Construction costs for the development are estimated at $4 million.
