295-Foot-Tall Office Building Tops Out at 2222 Market Street in Center City West

The latest office building to be constructed in Center City since the Comcast Technology Center was completed in 2019 is the one currently rising at 2222 Market Street, located within the rapidly growing Center City West neighborhood. Designed by Gensler and developed by Parkway Commercial Properties, the building has recently topped out and now stands at its full height of 295 feet and 19 stories. The development will hold law office space, with the law firm Morgan, Lewis, Bockius LLP planning to occupy at least part of the structure. The tower is the second high-rise project to go up in the area in recent years, following the topping-out of the two Riverwalk buildings.

Cladding Underway at 2222 Market Street in Center City West

The structural frame continues to rise and cladding installation has started at 2222 Market Street in Center City West. The building will stand 318 feet and 20 stories high, and provide a significant amount of office space as it will take up nearly the entire block. The structure was designed by Gensler and developed by Parkway Commercial Properties, which previously owned the parking lot that had spanned the tower’s entire future footprint.

2222 Market Street Nearly Topped Out In Center City West

The steel structure of the office building under construction at 2222 Market Street, in Center City West, is nearly topped out. Designed by Gensler, he building is one of the tallest among the city’s under-construction buildings, as it will rise to a height of 318 feet and 20 stories. The project is being developed by Parkway Commercial Properties, which has recently been redeveloping multiple parking lots that it owns. The building will fill an empty void on Market Street, and offers a preview of what is to come to the area in the future.

The facade has risen above the halfway point at Riverwalk South, located at 60 North 23rd Street in Center City West. Designed by Gensler and developed by the PMC Property Group, the building is part of the two-towered, 711-unit Riverwalk complex and rises 362 feet and 32 stories. The structure will hold 380 residential units and feature a pleasant shade of glazed glass, with black metal highlights rippling in the light throughout the day.

A Look Back at the Aramark Headquarters Renovation at 2400 Market Street in Center City West

Aramark, a food service provider, has been based in the Philadelphia area for many years, with the company’s headquarters is located in Center City. Before the its present location at 2400 Market Street by the Schuylkill River, the company was headquartered at 1101 Market Street in Market East. Designed by Varenhorst Architects and Gensler and developed by the PMC Property Group, the new headquarters involved a renovation of an existing structure with a five-story extension built at the top. The renovated building stands nine stories, bringing a modern design to an area where older architecture predominates. The project also includes retail, residential, and office space.
