Construction Elevator Being Removed at Arthaus in Washington Square West, Center City

The exterior construction elevator is currently being removed at Arthaus at 311 South Broad Street in Washington Square West, Center City. Earlier this year the tower reached its full height of 542 feet and 47 stories. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox and developed by Dranoff Properties, the development will offer 108 condominium units and retail space. Construction is nearing completion and the building has already become a prominent addition to the skyline.

A parking garage has been demolished at 316-20 South 11th Street in Washington Square WestCenter City, the site of a future townhouse development. When completed, the structure will add nine new townhomes to the site, each standing four stories tall. The buildings will feature stately exteriors with what appears to be a very high standard of brickwork and a molding band running above the second floor and an elaborate cornice situated at the parapet. The tan brick façade will feature large, attractive windows with grid-shaped frames. Each home will have access to an off-street parking garage via a covered drive aisle.

Skyline Massings Show Future Growth in Market East and Washington Square West, Center City

In Philadelphia, new development continues to constantly change the cityscape. Buildings with dominant height and/or great mass are being built on a regular basis, drawing the public’s attention. Revised Design Revealed for 1101 Walnut Street in Washington Square West, Center City

A revised design has been revealed for a high-rise tower planned at 1101 Walnut Street in Market EastCenter City. Designed by JKRP Architects, the revised plan will rise 18 stories and include 198 residential units, with a total of 138,150 square feet of space, located on the second, third, and fifth through eighteenth floors. The ground floor will hold 4,420 square feet of retail space and the fourth floor will offer 6,281 square feet of office and amenity space. The project will also include 34 off-site parking spaces, as well as 68 bicycle spaces.

Garage Closes at the Future Site of Jefferson University Caroline Kimmel Biomedical Research Center in Washington Square West, Center City

A large parking garage at 900 Locust Street in Washington Square West, Center City, is now closed and is expected to be demolished to make way for the Jefferson University Caroline Kimmel Biomedical Research Center. The building will stand 170 feet and 12 stories tall and contain over 220,000 square feet of space. Designed by Payette, the building will feature a glass and wood-colored facade.
