295-Foot-Tall Office Building Tops Out at 2222 Market Street in Center City West

The latest office building to be constructed in Center City since the Comcast Technology Center was completed in 2019 is the one currently rising at 2222 Market Street, located within the rapidly growing Center City West neighborhood. Designed by Gensler and developed by Parkway Commercial Properties, the building has recently topped out and now stands at its full height of 295 feet and 19 stories. The development will hold law office space, with the law firm Morgan, Lewis, Bockius LLP planning to occupy at least part of the structure. The tower is the second high-rise project to go up in the area in recent years, following the topping-out of the two Riverwalk buildings.

Philadelphia YIMBY Reveals Skyline Massings of Two Cathedral Square at 227 North 18th Street in Logan Square, Center City

YIMBY recently published the long-awaited reveal of the plans for Two Cathedral Square at 227 North 18th Street in Logan Square, Center City. The new building that will join the north side of the Philadelphia skyline as part of the Cathedral Square development. Developed by EQT Exeter and the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, the tower will soon rise to a height of 470 feet and will feature a curvy, angled parapet, standing 34 stories above ground. The building was designed by Solomon Cordwell Buenz, which has also designed Philadelphia buildings such as The Murano, The Laurel Rittenhouse, and 33 North 22nd Street. Cladding Reaches Parapet at Drexel College of Nursing and Health Professions in University City, West Philadelphia

Cladding installation is wrapping up at the Drexel College of Nursing and Health Professions at 3601 Filbert Street in University City, West Philadelphia, as glass panels have reached the top of the steel structure. Developed by Wexford Science & Technology LLC and designed by Ballinger, the building is one of the first structures under construction within the uCity Square complex. Alternately known as the Wexford Drexel Academic Tower, the high-rise stands 185 feet and 12 stories tall.

Philadelphia YIMBY Observes Multiple New Lighting Schemes at One Liberty Place in Center City

In recent weeks, new nighttime displays have been lighting up the Philadelphia skyline. The iconic One Liberty Place skyscraper,  located at 1650 Market Street in Center City, is the site of one of these new schemes, where new lights now decorate the crown. Developed by Rouse and Associates and designed by Helmut Jahn of Murphy/Jahn, the 61-story tower was completed in 1987 and stands 945 feet tall to the tip of its spire. Today Philadelphia YIMBY observes the most recent displays atop the skyscraper, after The Lighting Practice has finished revamping the decorative lighting.
