Potential Activity At One uCity Square in University City, West Philadelphia

The area to the west of the Schuylkill River, particularly University City, has seen much development news recently, including the pending construction of Schuylkill Yards. Another development is on the drawing boards for what is now a large empty plot of land at 3401 Market Street. One uCity Square is a 13-story office building developed by Ventas Inc. and designed by Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Partnership. The building’s height may not be impactful on the skyline, yet its 390,000 square feet of floor space will be a significant addition to the neighborhood.

Construction Begins on Drexel College of Nursing and Health Professions in University City, West Philadelphia

Development continues to expand at an unabated pace across University City. At 3601 Filbert Street, Drexel has started construction of Drexel College of Nursing and Health Professions, combining offices with university classrooms. The new building will stand 185 feet tall with 12 floors and yield 174,000 square feet. Ballinger is the architect and the engineer of record for the building.

Construction Timelines Announced for Three Schuylkill Yards Towers in University City, West Philadelphia

Construction timelines have been released for three skyscrapers that are a part of the Schuylkill Yards mega development in University City. The three buildings will range from 185 to 512 feet and from 14 to 34 floors.

Permits Filed for 904 North Markoe Street in Mill Creek, West Philadelphia

Construction permits have been filed for a two-family structure at 904 North Markoe Street in the Haddington neighborhood of West Philadelphia. The structure will replace a vacant lot with a white fence, situated between a pair of two-story rowhouses. The property, which sits close to the corner of North Markoe Street and Westminster Avenue, is owned by IRA Development and MKOS Development.
