Permits have been issued for the construction of three mixed-use buildings at 918-80 North Delaware Avenue in Northern Liberties, North Philadelphia. Designed by HDO Architecture, the development will feature 462 residential units spread across five buildings, with a sixth structure holding building amenities. Permits were recently issued for Building A, Building B, and Building D. Each will rise seven stories and feature a green roof.

Revisiting the Unbuilt Philadelphia World Trade Center Supertall Proposal

In 1988, plans were revealed for a 1,050-foot-tall, 65-story Philadelphia World Trade Center supertall at 456 North Christopher Columbus Boulevard on the Northern Liberties waterfront. The tower would have stood just to the north of the Benjamin Franklin Bridge, located close to the boundary between North Philadelphia and Center City. The plan, which later evolved to the World Trade Square project, consisted of three shorter high-rises alongside the main tower. The skyscraper was designed by Kling Lindquist, which was also bend the Bell Atlantic Tower and the unbuilt Center City Tower. Carl Marks Real Estate Team, along with Lance Silver and Stuart Harting, were the developers.

Permits have been issued for the construction of a mixed-use project at 2008 Broad Street in the Temple University area in North Philadelphia. The building will stand six stories tall with a 1,600-square-foot commercial space at the ground floor, with 40 residential units and 14 bicycle spaces included in the development. Construction costs are estimated at $1.5 million for the 22,128-square-foot project.

The development will include parking for 18 cars and 11 bicycles. The building will total 40,019 square feet, feature a green roof, and cost an estimated $4 million to build.

Permits have been issued for the construction of a nine-story, 108-unit mixed-use structure at 545 North Broad Street in Poplar, North Philadelphia. The building will offer 11,130 square feet of commercial space at the ground floor, 31 parking spaces, and 50 spaces for bicycles. Designed by CANNOdesign, the project which will hold 152,635 square feet of space and cost an estimated $20 million to build.

The building will be located on the south side of the block between North 29th Street and North 30th Street and will rise from a 12,031-square-foot footprint. The building will rise on the north side of the block between North 13th Street and North Park Avenue, spanning a 774-square-foot footprint. No floor count is specified, though the structure will stand at least three stories tall as the permit calls for a third floor setback. The development will include a roof deck. An updated design has been revealed for a six-story, 70-unit development proposed at 1324 West Allegheny Avenue in the Temple University Hospital area in North Philadelphia. Designed by Coscia Moos Architecture, the building will offer a total of 66,631 square feet of space and will feature a 4,438-square-foot commercial space on the ground floor, 17 parking spaces, an a 1,478-square-foot roof deck will be located offering sweeping views of the Philadelphia skyline.

Construction Progresses at BrüBox in Brewerytown, North Philadelphia

Construction is progressing rapidly at BrüBox, a five-story, 33-unit mixed-use development at 3120 Jefferson Street in Brewerytown, North Philadelphia. Designed by Coscia Moos Architecture and developed by Khosla Properties, the project will feature a commercial space on the ground floor and studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments. Tester Construction is the contractor.
