Today Philly YIMBY takes an in-depth look at the Village Square on Haverford, a multi-family development at 3611 Haverford Avenue in Mantua, West Philadelphia. Today we look at the renderings for the 166-unit multi-family development that will span several adjacent sites on two blocks bordered by Haverford Avenue to the south, Wallace Street to the north, North 36th Street to the east, and North 39th Street to the west. Designed by WRT and developed by Lomax Real Estate Partners and the Mount Vernon Community Development Corporation, the project will consist of several buildings ranging from three to six stories and will offer retail, a mix of rental and condominium units, green promenades, and public art.

Construction Anticipated at 4219-23 Chestnut Street in Spruce Hill, West Philadelphia

A recent site visit by Philly YIMBY has discovered that construction has not yet begun at a seven-story, 88-unit residential building proposed at 4219-23 Chestnut Street in Spruce Hill, West Philadelphia. Designed by Wulff Architects, Inc., the building will span 55,280 square feet, and rise 80 feet high to the main roof, and 93 feet to the top of the bulkheads. Features will include a roof deck and parking for 16 cars and 30 bicycles. The structure will replace a two-story commercial building that was previously occupied by a dialysis center, which, as our staff photographer has found, remains standing on the site with no signs of demolition, even though zoning permits for demolition and construction had been issued in September and December 2020, respectively.

Renderings Revealed for 1238-46 Belmont Avenue in East Parkside, West Philadelphia

Renderings have been revealed for a multi-family development at 1238-46 Belmont Avenue in East ParksideWest Philadelphia. Designed by Francesco Zampetti, the building will rise seven stories tall and feature 84 residential units. An underground parking garage will offer space for 32 parking spaces. Two of these will be auto-share spaces, one being an ADA space. The project will also provide space for 28 bicycles.

Crane Removal Underway at CHOP Hub for Clinical Collaboration in University City, West Philadelphia

The $4 billion Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia expansion is underway at 3501 Civic Center Boulevard in University City, West Philadelphia, and one of the buildings within the project will soon complete construction. Designed by Perkins + Will, the CHOP Hub for Clinical Collaboration rises just to the south of the CHOP Buerger Center. The building rises 377 feet and 19 floors high.
