Renderings have been revealed for Ultra Labs University City, a mixed-use high-rise proposed at 100 North 32nd Street in University CityWest Philadelphia. The building will stand 11 stories tall and hold 185,279 square feet of office and laboratory space, contributing to the city’s rapidly growing life sciences industry. The tower will likely rise somewhere between 160 and 190 feet tall, high enough to be easily noticeable from its position next to the rail yard and across from the Schuylkill River.

81-Unit Development Revealed at 4701-15 Kingsessing Avenue in Squirrel Hill, West Philadelphia

An 81-unit multi-family development has been revealed at 4701-15 Kingsessing Avenue in Squirrel Hill, West Philadelphia. The site sits at the northwestern cornet of the intersection of 48th Street and Chester Avenue. Designed by JKRP Architects, the development will rise four stories and contain 55,720 square feet of floor space. 45 new parking spots will also be included in the development, with two set to be ADA accessible, three reserved for electric vehicles and one for a car share. Additionally, the 40 spots currently existing at the property will remain, so a total of 85 parking spaces will be located at the site upon completion.

Philly YIMBY Reveals Massing Models for the Schuylkill Yards Supertall in University City, West Philadelphia

Ever since the master plan for Schuylkill Yards in University City was unveiled for the first time, it displayed a supertall skyscraper dominating the 14-acre site, a feature that persisted throughout all future iterations. Renderings show a glass-clad tower rising at 3101 Market Street, accented with bronze highlights that appear similar to those at 9 DeKalb and 111 West 57th Street in New York City, which are also designed by SHoP Architects, the group behind the Schuylkill Yards master plan. Brandywine Realty Trust, the project developer, is also responsible for projects such as the 350-foot-tall tower proposed at 2100 Market Street in Center City. As of the 2016 renderings, the supertall appears to rise around 1,100 feet high.
