Excavation is nearly complete for the first Schuylkill Yards tower at 3025 John F. Kennedy Boulevard in University City, West Philadelphia. The 361-foot tall high-rise is also known as Schuylkill Yards West. Located to the northwest of the Bulletin Building, the 28-story tower will soon join Evo and the FMC Tower on the local skyline. The building is designed by the Practice for Architecture and Urbanism, which had also designed 3001 John F. Kennedy Boulevard (aka Schuylkill Yards East) and the Bulletin Building renovation. Brandywine Realty Trust is the developer behind both the building and the entire 14-acre complex.
Interior work has recently been completed at the Bulletin Building at 3025 Market Street in University City, West Philadelphia. The building, which is the first structure within the Schuylkill Yards complex, rises nearly 100 feet above the ground and stands five stories tall, with a new modern exterior and freshly renovated floor space. The building renovation was designed by KieranTimberlake and the Practice for Architecture and Urbanism, with the latter also having designed Schuylkill Yards’ first skyscrapers, Schuylkill Yards East at 3025 John F. Kennedy Boulevard and Schuylkill Yards West at 3025 John F. Kennedy Boulevard. Brandywine Realty Trust is the developer for both the building and the entire 14-acre complex.
Permits have been issued for the construction of a five-unit multi-family building at 653 North Preston Street in Belmont, West Philadelphia. Upon completion, the new building will rise four stories tall. In total, the building will hold 7,185 square feet of space, with construction costs estimated at $750,000.
In West Philadelphia, a major project is bound to change University City in a dramatic way. Developed by developed by Brandywine Realty Trust, Schuylkill Yards includes one building that has already been completed, with the rest in the beginning stages of construction or site preparation. The project, located next to 30th Street Station, has a master plan with multiple buildings, though only four have had their final designs released to the public. The completed Bulletin Building renovation, the 512-foot-tall and 3001 John F. Kennedy Boulevard, and the the 361-foot-tall 3025 John F. Kennedy Boulevard were designed by the Practice for Architecture and Urbanism, while the 226-foot-tall 3151 Market Street was designed by SHoP Architects. Construction work is underway at The Elm, a 111-unit mixed-use development situated at 2079 North 63rd Street in Overbrook, West Philadelphia. Designed by Continuum Architecture and developed by Rock Development, the building will rise five stories tall, and will include five separate commercial spaces on the ground floor. A green roof will be situated at the top of the building, and 42 parking spaces will be located underneath the rear side of the structure. Tester Construction is the contractor for the project.
