Fireworks In The Decorated Skyline In Center City

Each year, the United States celebrates its birthday on July 4th, with evening fireworks being the highlight of the day. In Philadelphia, which was the nation’s capital between 1790 and 1800, a concert was held big name celebrities by the the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and fireworks, sponsored in large part by Wawa, launched as high as the Center City skyscrapers. The event was a tribute to America’s 245th birthday and the skyline was also lit up in the nations colors.

Exterior Nearly Complete at Riverwalk North in Center City West

Facade work nears completion at Riverwalk North, which is part of the Riverwalk complex at 60 North 23rd Street in Center City West. The development consist of two skyscrapers situated upon retail podiums. The project will feature a total of 711 residential units, and the north tower will have 331 units with the south tower featuring 380 units. Gensler, the architecture firm behind the design of the complex, has also designed a number of other projects in the area, including 3151 Market Street. Similarly, developer PMC Property Group is also developing several properties in the neighborhood.

Construction Progresses at North Liberty Triangle at 1115-27 North American Street in Northern Liberties, North Philadelphia

Construction is making significant progress at North Liberty Triangle, an 84-unit development located at 1115-27 North American Street in Northern Liberties, North Philadelphia. Façade work is underway at the four-story south building. The building has risen higher, as the structure will soon rise six stories above ground. The wooden structure of the second building, which will stand six stories tall, is currently rising. The residential and retail development will add significant density to the rapidly growing neighborhood. Developed by Streamline Development, the project sits just to the north of the massive Piazza Terminal complex.

Observing the Rising Philadelphia Skyline from the I-95 South Over the Past Few Years

Over the past few years, a number of high-rises have ascended into the Philadelphia skyline. A number of developments are still under construction and have reached a point where they are already noticeable from many vantage points. These developments include the W/Element Hotel, Arthaus, and The Laurel Rittenhouse Square, with the latter two having cranes towering over the street. Today, Philly YIMBY tracks the rise of the skyline from Interstate 95, one of the busiest highways in the country.

Philadelphia YIMBY Presents Updated Massing Renderings for 113-121 South 19th Street in Rittenhouse Square, Center City

Philadelphia YIMBY recently announced the filing of new permits for 113-121 South 19th Street in Rittenhouse Square, Center City, which appear to give a height bump for the structure. Designed by DAS Architecture and Planning, the 215-unit building is now planned to rise 57 stories, meaning that its height may reach over 600 feet. The slender tower is an unusual proposal for the city due to its smaller-than-average floor plates. The project is developed by Pearl Properties, which has also built The Harper, a high-rise residential building that opened in 2019 a block away.
