The Durst Organization Selected for Penn’s Landing Redevelopment in Center City

On Wednesday, after a lengthy review process, the New York City-based Durst Organization has been selected to head the Penn’s Landing redevelopment on the Delaware River waterfront in Center City. Durst’s master plan consists of an expanded Penn’s Landing park as well as new waterfront park space and several high-rise buildings, the tallest of which appears to reach around 700 feet. The plan is expected to bring 3.6 million square feet of floor space, much of which would be designated for 1,834 residential units. The development will leave a dramatic impact both on the riverfront and on the city skyline.

Permits have been filed for the construction of a four-story apartment building at 2051-77 Ridge Avenue in the Cecil B. Moore neighborhood of North Philadelphia. Alternately addressed as 2051-2077 Ridge Avenue, the filing calls for a total of 33,830 square feet of floor space, with ground-floor commercial space and 27 residential units above. Permits list Philadelphia Housing Authority as the owner and Ernest Bock & Sons INC as the contractor for the project.

Blue Ivy Hotel to Rise at 122 South 11th Street in Market East, Center City

The Market East neighborhood is notable for its large number of hotels, and another one will soon join their ranks. At 122 South 11th Street, the Estia Group is proposing the Blue Ivy Hotel, which would stand exactly 200 feet and contain 86 rooms. The building, designed by DAS architects, will sit across the street from Jefferson University Hospital Emergency at 111 South 11th Street.
