The site is currently home to the Good Shepherd Community Church, a Romanesque-inspired structure with a rusticated stone exterior, large arched windows, a gabled roof, and a cozy courtyard. The permit calls for the complete renovation of the two-story church, although the entrance area will be demolished. A four-story addition with a cellar will be erected alongside the church, which will also receive a third floor expansion. The project will produce 25 new apartments.

Renovation Planned For Pre-War Loft at 2501 Oakford Street in Grays Ferry, South Philadelphia

Permits have been issued for the renovation of a former industrial building located at 2501 Oakford Street in Grays Ferry, South Philadelphia. The former factory is set to receive an extra floor on top of the current four-story structure and to become home to 54 apartments as well as commercial space. Though not mentioned in the latest permit, a similar permit dating to May 2018 also called for artist studios and a roof deck, which would offer sweeping views since the tall-ceiled floors make the structure stand prominently above the low-rise surroundings. The owner is listed as 25th and Oakford LLC, with Reed St builders LLC listed as the contractor.

Construction Begins On 51 Washington Street In Conshohocken

Conshohocken, a quaint town located roughly 11 miles away from Center City, sits within Montgomery county on the left bank of the Schuylkill River. The town has recently seen a large amount of new development, having grown into a strong suburban (in the better sense of the word) force that has helped the Philadelphia metro area blossom.
