Permits have been issued for the renovation and one floor addition at 1914-20 South 7th Street between Hoffman and Dudley streets in the Wharton neighborhood in South Philadelphia. Plans call to renovate the interior of the structure with a commercial space on the first floor and 10 residential units above. With the addition of 4th floor, the building will position itself to be the tallest in the block. When completed, the building will have 11,658 square feet of space. Construction costs for the project are estimated at $1 million.

Construction Progresses on SEPTA’s Regional Rail Expansion in Middletown, Pennsylvania

After decades of service reductions to its regional rail system, SEPTA has embarked on a development program that seeks to revive some of the former rail services. One such project is the Wawa Station currently under construction in the Middletown Township, PA, reviving a part of a route that once ran from Philadelphia to West Chester until its discontinuation in September 1986. SEPTA plans to restore service on the Media/Elwyn Regional Rail Line from its current terminus at Elwyn Station.
