Residential Floors Topped Out at The Laurel Rittenhouse at 1911 Walnut Street in Rittenhouse Square, Center City

The residential floors of The Laurel Rittenhouse at 1911 Walnut Street, in the Rittenhouse Square neighborhood of Center City, have been topped out. The skyscraper now rises 48 stories into the sky, nearing its final height of 599 feet. The tower was developed by Southern Land Company and designed by Solomon Cornwell Buenz, which has also designed the 27-story tower planned at 1620 Sansom Street. The building will offer 185 rental apartments as well as 64 condominiums at the upper floors. The condo section will offer a private entrance, lobby, and elevators, as well as parking included with every condo unit. The building will feature an amenity space on the 26th floor, as well as an Equinox gym within the lower floors.

Renderings Revealed for 1100 Wharton Street in Passyunk Square, South Philadelphia

Renderings have been revealed for a large mixed-use development located at 1100 Wharton Street in Passyunk SquareSouth Philadelphia. Designed by JKRP Architects and developed by the Alterra Property Group, the complex includes several buildings. The largest will be a new mixed-use structure totaling 162,335 square feet of space, with a 4,000-square-foot roof deck. Residential amenity space and a commercial unit will be located on the ground floor, with 155 residential units on the upper floors. Other existing buildings in the block are a 71,360-square-foot mixed-use building with 45 residential units, a 18,616-square-foot police station, and a 51,010-square-foot office building. A new fire station is also planned to be built as part of the development. In total, 239 parking spaces will be offered for occupants of the block, with 62 in the basement level of the mixed-use building, 94 surface spaces in the center of the block, and 83 off-site spaces.

Cathedral Square Phase One Takes Shape at 222 North 17th Street in Logan Square, Center City

The first phase of the Cathedral Square development is underway and rising at 222 North 17th Street in Logan Square, Center City. The building, at this time known as Cathedral Square Phase 1, will rise 245 feet and 23 stories tall. The tower is designed by Solomon Cornwell Buenz, which had also designed the Murano condominium and The Laurel Rittenhouse, which is currently under construction. The two-tower complex is being developed by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and Exeter Property Group, which will span much of the city block that is situated three blocks to the north of the Comcast Center.

Permits Issued for 127-Unit Building at 1901-19 East York Street in East Kensington

Permits have been issued for the construction of a 127-unit multi-family development at 1901-19 East York Street in East Kensington. Designed by LRK, the building will rise 72 feet and six stories tall. Artist studios and artisan industries will be located at the ground floor. In total, the building will hold 115,293 square feet of space. The project will include 28 parking spaces, with two set for electric vans, two accessible spaces, and one regular van space. Additionally, the building will also include 46 bike spaces. A green roof and roof deck will be located at the top of the structure. Construction costs are estimated at $20.4 million.
