Last year, Philly YIMBY announced the proposal of a five-story, 160-unit residential complex at 2630 West Girard Avenue in Brewerytown, North Philadelphia. Today we take an in-depth look at the 127,200-square-foot development designed by ISA and developed by ADCO (American Development Company) and Callahan Ward, which will include 9,300 square feet of ground-level retail, parking for 46 vehicles and 56 bicycles, two shared roof decks, 34 private terraces, and other details revealed in last year’s Civic Design Review presentation.

The second tower has topped out at The Hamilton, a 599-unit residential development located at 1500 Hamilton Street in Franklintown, North Philadelphia. Designed by Bower Lewis Thower Architects and developed by Community College of Philadelphia and Radnor Property Group, the 197-foot-tal, 16-story building stands taller than the 147-foot-tall, ten-story phase one building to the west. The first holds 279 units inside the tower, while phase two will feature 320 units. Located near the CBS 3 News headquarters, the pair of bulky, gray and yellow buildings brings a mix of color as well as density into the area.

Construction has been progressing rapidly at 3700 Lancaster Avenue, a massive six-story apartment building in the uCity Square megaproject in University City, West Philadelphia. The 304,907-square-foot project will add 463 new residential units and 157 parking spaces units to the neighborhood. YIMBY first shared the project in September, when foundation work had been completed and framing had begun on the first floor.

Plans have been revealed for a six-story, mixed-use development at 932 Hamilton Street in Allentown, a city on the northern outskirts of the greater Philadelphia metro area, about 30 miles north of the city. Designed by Bernardon, the development will consist of a total 108 residential units across a mixture of studios, one-bedrooms and two-bedrooms. All units will be rental apartments. Three commercial storefronts will be located in the ground floor facing Hamilton Street. The building will hold 114,000 square feet of floor space.
