Designed by Coscia Moos Architecture, the 152,230-square-foot building will rise seven stories tall and will feature commercial space on the ground floor and a roof deck at the pinnacle. Construction costs are indicated at $14.6 million.

The structure now stands six stories tall and is on its way to house 100 residential units. The development will span 68,210 square feet and will feature a roof deck. Construction Complete at Drexel University Health Sciences Building at 3601 Filbert Street in University City, West Philadelphia

Philadelphia YIMBY visited the recently completed Drexel University Health Sciences Building at 3601 Filbert Street in University City, West Philadelphia. Also known as the Drexel College of Nursing and Health Professions or the Wexford Drexel Academic Tower, the building rises 14 stories, with 12 primary plus two mechanical floors, and is designed by Ballinger and developed by Wexford Science & Technology, with Turner Construction as the contractor. Upon its anticipated completion later this year, the structure will span over 450,000 square feet and will house Drexel University’s College of Nursing and Health Professions as well as a significant portion of the functions of the College of Medicine. The building is a part of Wexford’s and Drexel’s 14-acre, jointly-developed uCity Square complex, which is rapidly transforming the northern section of University City.

Site Prep Continues at 2301 John F. Kennedy Boulevard in Center City West

Philadelphia YIMBY’s recent site visit has observed that site prep work continues at a 307-foot-tall, 23-story mixed-use high-rise underway at 2301 John F. Kennedy Boulevard in Center City West. Designed by Solomon Cordwell Buenz and developed by the PMC Property Group (which also serves as the contractor), the curvy edifice will rise on a slender-wedge shaped lot by the Schuylkill River waterfront and will contain 334,201 square feet of interior space. The project will offer 287 residential units as well as office space and parking for 44 cars and 96 bicycles. Permits specify a construction cost of $105 million.
