A recent site visit by Philly YIMBY has noted that construction work is nearing completion at Amy Gutmann Hall at 3317-23 Chestnut Street at the University of Pennsylvania in University CityWest Philadelphia. Designed by Lake Flato Architects, with KSS Architects as the architect of record and Ground Control Collaborative as landscape designer, the building will rise six stories and span 115,954 square feet, and will feature classrooms, collaborative spaces for student projects, and a data science hub. The total construction cost is indicated at $68.3 million.

Construction Still Anticipated at 4219-23 Chestnut Street in Spruce Hill, West Philadelphia

Philadelphia YIMBY’s recent site visit has observed that construction has still not started at a seven-story, 88-unit residential building proposed at 4219-23 Chestnut Street in Spruce Hill, West Philadelphia. The development will replace a two-story commercial structure on the north side of the block between South 42nd and South 43rd streets. Designed by Wulff Architects, Inc., the building will span 55,280 square feet, and rise 80 feet high to the main roof, and 93 feet to the top of the bulkheads. Features will include a roof deck and parking for 16 cars and 30 bicycles.

Construction Nears Completion at 4301 Chestnut Street in Spruce Hill, West Philadelphia

Philadelphia YIMBY’s recent site visit has observed that construction work is nearing completion at a 275-unit mixed-use building underway at 4301 Chestnut Street in Spruce HillWest Philadelphia. Designed by JKRP Architects, the building will rise seven stories tall and feature 30,300 square feet of retail space on the ground floor. The residential space will total 147,562 square feet. Amenity space on the second floor will span 3,278 square feet, with 7,895 square feet of common space on the ground floor. A 6,055-square-foot roof deck will be located at the top of the building. An underground garage will hold 75 parking spaces, with two expected to be handicap accessible, one set to be van accessible, four for electric vehicles, and two interior loading spaces. Permits list Turn Key Realty as the contractor and specify a construction cost of $15 million.

Demolition Still Not Started at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center Garage in University City, West Philadelphia

A recent site visit by Philly YIMBY has noted that there are still no signs of demolition work at a 406-car multi-level garage at the northwest corner of Filbert and North 38th streets at the Penn Presbyterian Medical Center campus at 3800 Powelton Avenue in University City, West Philadelphia. The demolition is planned as part of an extensive overhaul of the medical campus, which includes the construction of a nine-story, 481,702-square-foot parking garage in the western section of the campus superblock, which was recently constructed.
