Broad and Noble Awaits Construction at 427-43 North Broad Street in Callowhill, North Philadelphia

The stretch of North Broad Street just north of the Vine Street Expressway is poised for an incoming development surge. One of the projects slated for the area is Broad and Noble, a 231-foot-tall, 19-story residential high-rise at 427-43 North Broad Street (or, alternatively, at 1327-31 Noble Street) in Callowhill, half a block northeast of the Inquirer Building and half a block west of the entrance to the elevated Rail Park. Toll Brothers is the developer and Barton Partners is the architect.

Excavation Underway at 702 Sansom Street on Jewelers’ Row, Center City

Excavation is underway for a 308-foot-tall, 24-story residential tower at 702 Sansom Street in Center City. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by Toll Brothers, the 85-unit project will replace six low-rise buildings on Jewelers’ Row, a notable locale in the Market East neighborhood. The building joins a number of other developments in various stages of progress along Sansom Street, including the 599-foot-tall Laurel Rittenhouse, the tallest building under construction in Philadelphia.

Construction Progresses on SEPTA’s Regional Rail Expansion in Middletown, Pennsylvania

After decades of service reductions to its regional rail system, SEPTA has embarked on a development program that seeks to revive some of the former rail services. One such project is the Wawa Station currently under construction in the Middletown Township, PA, reviving a part of a route that once ran from Philadelphia to West Chester until its discontinuation in September 1986. SEPTA plans to restore service on the Media/Elwyn Regional Rail Line from its current terminus at Elwyn Station.
