Philadelphia offers a great number of that showcase the growing skyline. Though photographers always seek a new perspective of the skyline, the time-tested, iconic spots are still available to capture for the sake of the beauty in frame that has been captured for multiple years. On the list, the most iconic spots include the walkways of the Benjamin Franklin Bridge, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the view from Spring Garden Street Bridge, and lastly the South Street Bridge view. Today, we observe the skyline from the South Street Bridge, which puts multiple new developments in the spotlight.

Permits Issued for 2125 East Norris Street In Fishtown, North Philadelphia

Permits have been issued for the construction of a pair of multi-family buildings at 2125 East Norris Street in Fishtown, Kensington. Upon completion, both buildings will rise three stories tall. Each will feature a roof deck. There will be four residential units within each building, for a combined total of eight units. Each structure will hold 4,672 square feet of space, with construction costs estimated at $465,000 each. KCA Design Associates is listed as the project’s design professional, with City Suburban Home Builders LLC acting as the contractor.

Concrete Core Topped Out at The Laurel Rittenhouse in Rittenhouse Square, Center City

The concrete structure has topped out at The Laurel Rittenhouse at 1911 Walnut Street in Rittenhouse Square, Center City. Developed by the Southern Land Company and designed by Solomon Cornwell Buenz, a team that is also collaborating on a residential tower underway nearby at 1620 Sansom Street, The Lauren Rittenhouse rises just to the northwest of Rittenhouse Square Park. The building already stands 49 stories tall, and will shortly rise to its final planned height of 599 feet. The development will feature 185 rental units and 64 luxury condominiums.

The structure will rise from a 1,402-square-foot footprint and will contain 5,359 square feet of mixed residential and commercial interior space. The development will feature a cellar, a roof deck, and full sprinkling. Designed by Foster + Partners, the structure rises 343 feet and 17 stories tall, and holds 1.5 million square feet of interior space. Today we look at the construction process of the nearly completed building that dominates the surrounding area with its scale.

Upon completion, the new building will rise three stories tall and will feature two decks, one on the roof and another at the rear. In total, the building will hold 3,489 square feet of space, with construction costs estimated at $180,000. The CHOP Hub for Clinical Collaboration at 3501 Civic Center Boulevard is starting to look like the projected renderings as facade work is making steady progress. Located in in University City, West Philadelphia, the massive structure is the first phase of the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s expansion plan and is being built at a cost of $4 billion. Designed by Perkins+Will, the structure now stands at its final height of 377 feet and 19 stories.

Renderings Revealed for The Marquis at 27 South 3rd Street in Easton, PA

Renderings have been revealed for The Marquis, a 274-unit mixed-use development at 27 South 3rd Street in Easton, PA, a city located in the greater Philadelphia metropolitan area. Designed by Bernardon, the building will rise seven stories tall, with a total of 403,685 square feet of space, including 6,192 square feet of retail space on the ground floor along 3rd Street. The apartments will feature 59 studios, 115 one-bedrooms, and 95 two-bedroom units. Five live/work units will also be included in the project, as well as 302 parking spaces.
