The Riverfront Alliance Of Delaware County has unveiled an extensive master plan that will transform the waterfront of Chester, PA, a satellite city west of Philadelphia. The plan seeks to revitalize approximately 100 acres of waterfront by the Commodore Barry Bridge and Subaru Park, a stadium that is home to the Philadelphia Union, a Major League Soccer franchise. The park space ill come in addition to a large mixed use neighborhood designed by NBBJ.

The area to the west of the Schuylkill River, particularly University City, has seen much development news recently, including the pending construction of Schuylkill Yards. Another development is on the drawing boards for what is now a large empty plot of land at 3401 Market Street. At 3601 Filbert Street, Drexel has started construction of Drexel College of Nursing and Health Professions, combining offices with university classrooms. The new building will stand 185 feet tall with 12 floors and yield 174,000 square feet. Ballinger is the architect and the engineer of record for the building.
