Permits have been filed for the construction of a two-family structure at 1727 North Croskey Street in the Cecil B. Moore neighborhood in North Philadelphia. The structure, which will replace a vacant grass lot, will feature a cellar and a roof deck and will not exceed 38 feet in height. Uncle BF LLC is the listed owner.
The Riverfront Alliance Of Delaware County has unveiled an extensive master plan that will transform the waterfront of Chester, PA, a satellite city west of Philadelphia. The plan seeks to revitalize approximately 100 acres of waterfront by the Commodore Barry Bridge and Subaru Park, a stadium that is home to the Philadelphia Union, a Major League Soccer franchise. The park space ill come in addition to a large mixed use neighborhood designed by NBBJ.
The area to the west of the Schuylkill River, particularly University City, has seen much development news recently, including the pending construction of Schuylkill Yards. Another development is on the drawing boards for what is now a large empty plot of land at 3401 Market Street. One uCity Square is a 13-story office building developed by Ventas Inc. and designed by Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Partnership. The building’s height may not be impactful on the skyline, yet its 390,000 square feet of floor space will be a significant addition to the neighborhood.
Demolition permits have been filed for 2019 Fernon Street in the Point Breeze neighborhood of South Philadelphia. The building to be demolished is a two-story structure with a cellar, classified as single-family yet currently unoccupied and boarded up. The property is located near the corner of Fernon Street and South 20th Street and is owned by Urban Living 6 LLC.
Development continues to expand at an unabated pace across University City. At 3601 Filbert Street, Drexel has started construction of Drexel College of Nursing and Health Professions, combining offices with university classrooms. The new building will stand 185 feet tall with 12 floors and yield 174,000 square feet. Ballinger is the architect and the engineer of record for the building.
