Rendering have been revealed for a 16-unit mixed-use development at 2400-04 Frankford Avenue in Fishtown, Kensington. Designed by Canno Design and developed by Khosla Properties, the new building will rise four stories tall, with a retail space on the ground floor and residential units above. The building will boast a stately exterior, comprised entirely of gray brick. Throughout the façade, rows and columns of bricks project forward, creating a unique texture on the building. The southeast corner of the building will be rounded, creating a fluid look that will accentuate the intersection.

The Soleil Condo-Hotel Resort Receives Approval in Ocean City, NJ

The Ocean City, NJ municipal government has approved The Soleil, a six-story, 111-unit condo-hotel resort development at 1101 Ocean Avenue that will be the city’s largest project in the works for many years. The city is situated in the far reaches of the Philadelphia metropolitan area on the Jersey shore, and is a popular tourist destination. A swimming pool, as well as a cafe/deli will also be incorporated with the building. A structured parking garage will be available for The Soleil, as well as the neighboring Flanders Hotel, one of the city’s tallest buildings.

Looking Back At The Testing Of The Lantern On The Comcast Technology Center

The Comcast Technology Center at 1800 Arch Street in Center City was completed on August 12, 2019, when the hotel portion officially opened, becoming the tallest skyscraper in Philadelphia. The tower stands 1,121 feet and 60 stories tall, with a central concrete core and steel floor plates. The skyscraper was designed by Foster and Partners, which has designed several buildings that features metal highlights and bright lighting features, and developed by Liberty Property Trust, which used to be known as Rouse and Associates when Willard G. Rouse III ran the company before his death. Today YIMBY looks at the process of testing the lighting at the building’s lantern around the time of its completion.

Designed by SgRA Architecture, the project consists of renovation of multiple existing industrial buildings and additions that will make for a singular, six-story structure. The 133,014-square-foot building which will also hold artisan industrial space. According to permits, construction costs are estimated at $8.45 million.
