Construction Finishes at The Chestnut at 3720 Chestnut Street, University City

Over the past few years, University City has ushered a pretty long list of new and proposed 300-foot-plus residential towers. Another such tower now joins the “completed” list as The Chestnut at 3720 Chestnut Street, boasting a full height of 344 feet, has recently opened its 420 apartments. The new tower, designed by SITIO Inc and developed by EGP Urban Multifamily, has brought 427,100 square feet to University City.

Permits Filed For 6552 Germantown Avenue in Mount Airy, Northwest Philadelphia

A permit has been issued for the construction of a four-story structure at 6552 Germantown Avenue in Mount Airy. The building will consist of 10 residential units. It will have easy access to the Chestnut Hill West regional rail line and fronts the busy and frequent 23 bus route. The current site houses a once-attractive row of three homes with vacant retail spaces on the first floor. Those structures are now crumbling and are are possibly no longer salvageable.

Parking Lot Awaits Construction of 260-Foot Office Building at 2000 Arch Street, Logan Square

There is a handful of proposals just to the east of the Schuylkill River, one of which was unveiled last year at 2000 Arch Street at the corner of 20th Street and Arch Street in the Logan Square neighborhood in northwest Center City. The proposal may bring Chub, an out-of-state tenant, into the city of Philadelphia, and would further boost the area’s amount of development. With the possible developer of Parkway Corporation, the building is planned to rise 260 feet with 15 floors.
