The building will will also include 24 parking spaces, 20 of which are set to be mechanical, a retail space set to be occupied by a restaurant, and a roof deck that will offer sweeping views of the Philadelphia skyline. The development will hold 36,336 square feet of space and cost an estimated $3,633,600 to build.

Construction is progressing rapidly at the seven-story building at 701 South Broad Street in HawthorneSouth Philadelphia. A total of 50 residential units will be situated on the floors above, as well as four “hotel rooms,” which will likely be short-term apartment rental units. The building will include a retail space on the ground floor. YIMBY first discussed the development last November, sharing the project’s rendering. Since then, significant progress has been observed at the site.

Renovations Underway at The Terrace on 18th Street in Logan Square, Center City

Renovation is underway at the 27-story Embassy Suites by Hilton Philadelphia Center City at 1776 Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Logan Square, Center City. Upon completion, the circular tower that stands at the corner of North 18th Street and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway will be a residential development called The Terrace on 18th Street. The building was originally completed back in 1963 designed by Oskar Stonorov of Korman Co. as an apartment building. In the 1980s it was converted into Embassy Suites, and now Pearl Properties is transforming the building back to a 288-unit apartment structure. Exterior renderings are done by Gabe Lui Architectural Renderings and the interiors are designed by DAS Architecture.
