Structural framework has reached the pinnacle at Southbridge Phase Two, located at 701 South 19th Street in Graduate Hospital, South Philadelphia. The building rises four stories tall and holds seven condo units. Developed by Zatos Investments, the building stands next to Southbridge Condos Phase One, which is bringing six residential units to the market, making for a combined 13 units between the two phases.

Philadelphia offers a great number of that showcase the growing skyline. Though photographers always seek a new perspective of the skyline, the time-tested, iconic spots are still available to capture for the sake of the beauty in frame that has been captured for multiple years. On the list, the most iconic spots include the walkways of the Benjamin Franklin Bridge, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the view from Spring Garden Street Bridge, and lastly the South Street Bridge view. Today, we observe the skyline from the South Street Bridge, which puts multiple new developments in the spotlight.

Permits have been issued for the construction of a pair of multi-family buildings at 2125 East Norris Street in Fishtown, Kensington. Upon completion, both buildings will rise three stories tall. Each will feature a roof deck. There will be four residential units within each building, for a combined total of eight units. Each structure will hold 4,672 square feet of space, with construction costs estimated at $465,000 each. KCA Design Associates is listed as the project’s design professional, with City Suburban Home Builders LLC acting as the contractor.

Concrete Core Topped Out at The Laurel Rittenhouse in Rittenhouse Square, Center City

The concrete structure has topped out at The Laurel Rittenhouse at 1911 Walnut Street in Rittenhouse Square, Center City. Developed by the Southern Land Company and designed by Solomon Cornwell Buenz, a team that is also collaborating on a residential tower underway nearby at 1620 Sansom Street, The Lauren Rittenhouse rises just to the northwest of Rittenhouse Square Park. The building already stands 49 stories tall, and will shortly rise to its final planned height of 599 feet. The development will feature 185 rental units and 64 luxury condominiums.

Designed by Foster + Partners, the structure rises 343 feet and 17 stories tall, and holds 1.5 million square feet of interior space. Today we look at the construction process of the nearly completed building that dominates the surrounding area with its scale.

The CHOP Hub for Clinical Collaboration at 3501 Civic Center Boulevard is starting to look like the projected renderings as facade work is making steady progress. Located in in University City, West Philadelphia, the massive structure is the first phase of the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s expansion plan and is being built at a cost of $4 billion. Designed by Perkins+Will, the structure now stands at its final height of 377 feet and 19 stories.
