Cathedral Place Phase 1 Will Stand 245 Feet Tall Next To Cathedral Basilica in Logan Square

The area around western Vine Street has been experiencing a generational wave of new construction. RAMSA’s 382-foot Alexander at 1601 Vine Street wrapped in 2018, the ten-story 2100 Hamilton Street will soon rise nearby, and last year, long after the initial announcement for the two-towered Cathedral Place project, architecture firm Solomon Cordwell Buenz finally released renderings for Cathedral Place Phase 1, a 245-foot, 23-story high-rise at 222 North 17th Street, which would stand behind the iconic, domed Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Logan Square.

Site To Be Cleared For 361-Foot-Tall Broad + Pine At 337 South Broad Street, Washington Square West, Center City

For many years now, a Starbucks has occupied a three story building at 337 South Broad Street in Washington Square West. Over the past few years, designs have been revealed to replace the three story building with a 28-story 361-foot tower developed by Dranoff Properties. With Broad Street gaining more attention with development, it will continue the ascent of skyscrapers in Center City and Broad Street as Symphony House did when completed in 2009.

Demolition Permits Filed At 1537 North 33rd Street in Strawberry Mansion Near John Coltrane House

A zoning permit has been filed for the demolition of a three-story, pre-war rowhouse and a one-story rear shed at 1537 North 33rd Street in Strawberry Mansion, North Philadelphia, half a block up from the landmarked John Coltrane House. According to the permit, the replacement will consist of an attached building with a cellar and a roof deck, with the latter likely boasting verdure-filled views of Fairmount Park, which spans across the street to the west. Millennium Development LL is the listed owner.
