Construction work continues to progress on the massive Piazza Terminal development at 1075 Germantown Avenue in Northern Liberties, North Philadelphia. Designed by Northern Liberties, BKV Group, the 1,144-unit project is the largest development currently underway in the neighborhood and will contribute a significant amount of public space. The project was developed by the Post Brothers, which has a number of projects around the city, such as The Poplar, located within a 15-minute walk from Piazza Terminal.
Permits have been issued for the construction of a six-unit multi-family building at 1929 North 7th Street in North Philadelphia East near Temple University. Upon completion, the building will rise five stories tall. A roof deck will be located at the top of the structure. Just a month after the erection of the tower crane, the steel structure is underway at 2222 Market Street in Center City West. The building is one of many projects transforming the west side of Center City. Designed by Gensler, the structure will rise 318 feet and 20 stories high and will feature a modern mix of glass, metal, and stone cladding. The building is developed by Parkway Commercial Properties, which used to operate the parking lot that used to occupy the block.
Permits have been issued for 5139 Wayne Avenue, a 48-unit building that will be situated in Germantown, Northwest Philadelphia. Once completed, the structure will rise four stories tall. A green roof would be included at the top. In total, the building will span 34,077 square feet of space. According to permits, the project will cost an estimated $4.8 million to build.
